Spacegulls 1
The Journey To Westerlund
The Journey to Westerlund depicts what is thought to be dense clouds of dust and gas that are incubators for new stars 20,000 light-years away from Earth.

The SpaceGulls series brings together two deep loves that are centred around Space. The motif of the seagull from the book Jonathan Livingstone Seagull by Richard Bach, with images captured using the Hubble Space Telescope depicting real corners of the known Universe.
The book tells the story of a young seagull Jonathan, who is bored with the conformity of following the flock. Instead, he follows his heart and does more of what he loves doing… flying makes him feel most alive. Through his tenacity and desire to learn he discovers the freedom of being himself, becoming a one-in-a-million-bird capable of flying anywhere in the universe! First published in 1970 one year after man first landed on the Moon, this story captures the excitement of that era… expanded horizons, feats of determination, and an unshakeable belief in a vision. Jonathan Livingston Seagull made a lasting impression on me, and the symbol of the seagull has become a totem from which I draw strength.
